Hey, All:
Hope this finds you well. Bro. Joe & I visited the Momster Sunday evening to check in and say "Hey!" before Joe headed off to California for an outage job. We left word on the answering machine that we were coming and to unlock the door. Well, she was ready for us when we arrived. She came to the door without the use of her walker and compared to the way she looked when I last saw her earlier in the summer, she looked fantastic!
....and hoppin' mad... at Joe and the world because she has nothing to show for her hard life. (I guess she doesn't count her nine healthy children, 22 grand children, 9 great grand children, her own superb health, a roof over her head, a couple of pensions and all the spit and vinegar you could want.)
Anyway; Joe and I visited for a short while. Maria and Nick were with us, and got the proverbial earful. I'm pretty sure she doesn't remember it, and hope Joe can take it in stride that she's focused all her negative "stuff" at him. She's bored, stuck on that couch with little opportunity to get out - or even look out the window - and definitely ready to move into a personal care home. Cil has found one in Charleroi that serves Women only and she's pretty psyched to go there. I'm not sure what is still needed, but Cil is taking care of all of it (although that shouldn't be the way it is.)
Please post any photographs you might have and let us begin to create a blog that lets us communicate with each other and Mom to keep abreast of goings on, our thoughts (keep it clean, but let it fly if you feel it) and any ideas on how we can hurry this process along before she pops a clone.
Joe plans to pick her up for morning mass once he gets back home in about six weeks, but if, in the interim, anyone has some time, check in and wish her well. (Tell her to 'be peaceful' like she always told me)
